The apartment has a nice living room with sitting area and dining table that seats 6 - 8 people. From the apartment's double glass sliding doors opening onto the delightful south and west facing terrace. There are two bedrooms, both with double beds and cabinet walls, from one of the bedrooms there is access to the terrace. Both double beds have duvets/pillows/linen according to Scandinavian standards. The apartment has two bathrooms one with bathtub the other with shower. There is a nice kitchen that has dishwasher and washing machine, stove with oven, microwave oven, kettle, Tassimo coffee machine and also everything in general kitchen utensils and crockery. In the living room you can make two additional beds (guest beds) so there is a total sleeping accommodation for 5 people. There are TV in connection with Apple TV and, through an app for the iPhone or iPad possibility to stream Scandinavian and some English television channels. There is in the living room also a Bose music dock for iPhone 4 (+ adapter for iPhone 5).
There is air conditioning in every room of the apartment and to the warm nights in the bedrooms, a ceiling fan. For the cold days of winter, there are also two radiators and a gas heater to supplement. There is Wi-Fi in the apartment. On the terrace there is a table and 4 folding chairs and 2 extra chairs, there is also is a Webber gas grill. The terrace offers the most amazing views over the countryside and down to the Mediterranean Sea and on a clear day also to Gibraltar and North Africa.
The apartment is on the lowest floor of the house Cordoba2 and located in the front row of the Altos de Calahonda complex. There is parking in front of the entrance to the house.
In the subtropical garden in front of the house there are two pool areas with sun beds which can be used free of charge. In the garden area there are many palm trees and flowers, the whole area looked after daily by two employed gardeners.
Altos de Calahonda is a "gated community" and is an enclosed area with a locked controlled gate, The gate can be opened with a code on the control panel on the wall in the left side of the gate.
In Altos de Calahonda are only a few apartments are for rent, and only by individuals. Most apartments are owned by Northern Europeans who use the apartment in a small number of weeks of the year. This means that there are not many apartments that are occupied simultaneously and therefore it is very quiet and calm throughout the complex. And since the complex is located almost on top of the hill, there is no through traffic. From the apartment you will not hear any traffic noise at all, which is not typical in Spain. So if you want peace and quietness, in Altos de Calahonda ye shall hold your next vacation.
The apartment is not a typical rental apartment since we mainly have it to use even in our own vacations, but we also want to rent it out. This also means that the apartment is furnished as we think it is nice to be in, ie . with Danish paintings and furniture that we want to surround ourselves with when we are in our apartment. Our private things such as clothes etc. are packed into boxes stored in one closet in the bedroom.
Altos de Calahonda is situated high on the hill (about 300 meters above sea level) behind the town Sitio de Calahonda. From the apartment about 400 meters down the road there are several restaurants and bars and a small supermarket. In Calahonda (2 km) there are many restaurants and bars including on "The Strip", in addition there are about 5 supermarkets and specialty shops in the area.
Calahonda city is located on the Mediterranean coast. Calahonda beach has a number of cozy cafes and beach bars. Beach chairs and sun beds can be rented on all the beaches in the area. Along the coast to both east and vest, there are many different and nice beach areas alternating with cliff areas.
Calahonda is located approx. midway between Fuengirola and Marbella (about 10 km) and is thus a very central starting point for entertainment/excursions and shopping in shopping centers in both cities. Especially recommended is the old town of Marbella and the port area of Puerto Banus which is known to be the "rich and famous" area with huge yachts and sports cars such as Ferrari and Aston Martin.
Practical information regarding the apartment:
- Wi-Fi costs 35 EUR per rental period and must be ordered with reservation.
- Power consumption is metered in the apartment and charged/deducted from the deposit.
- The deposit of EUR 300 must be paid before submission of the keys to the apartment.
- Water is included in the rent.
Cleaning after the rental period is mandatory and costs 100 euros, and is deducted from the deposit.
